GeoTrace® is our geothermal measurement chain – developed and manufactured in Berlin-Adlershof. It simultaneously records temperatures across multiple layers of the earth, transmits the data via IoT, and displays it in a digital dashboard – all in real time. This enables the use of geothermal energy as a sustainable energy source, reduces documentation requirements, and allows for rapid response to deviations.

GeoTrace® offers precise monitoring of thermal changes in the ground. The measuring chain is flexibly adaptable and can be equipped with any number of sensors, allowing you to customize the length, number of sensors, and their spacing.
The pressure-tight and permanent installation in the ground makes GeoTrace® ideal for various applications, such as maintenance, building energy efficiency or as an early warning system for buildings near groundwater.

The standard covers a lot: geothermal probe fields, groundwater monitoring stations, classic temperature profiles.

Dockyard at the East Harbor
Initial situation
In the Dockyard development area at the East Harbor, digital geotechnics is becoming the key to greater efficiency: The direct connection of the GeoTrace® measurement chain creates a monitoring system that seamlessly integrates energy data from the subsurface into building automation. This combination of sensors and controls opens up new possibilities for the precise monitoring and optimization of thermal processes in the ground.

For modern energy concepts such as geothermal and ice storage solutions, knowledge of the processes occurring beneath the surface is crucial. While existing systems capture relevant measurements, they often remain isolated from active energy management. Therefore, a solution was needed that makes subsurface data available in real time and integrates it directly into control processes – for a holistically controlled, adaptable energy infrastructure.

The GeoTrace® measurement chain provides this connection: High-resolution sensors measure geotechnical and thermodynamic parameters in the soil between groundwater and groundwater – from temperature profiles to volume changes and states of matter.
The direct connection allows the data to be fed directly into the building automation system. This creates an adaptive monitoring system that not only measures but also learns and actively optimizes energy flows.
