Use Case II
GreenFusion “GreenBox”
Initial situation
Green Fusion's GreenBox is an AI solution that intelligently measures and controls energy flows in multi-family buildings, enabling significant energy savings. Green Fusion's requirement for the EBK Group was to define a scalable and cost-optimized manufacturing process, with the goal of being able to integrate the devices into Green Fusion's IT systems pre-configured.
The challenge:
1
Definition of a cost-optimized manufacturing process for an AI hardware product
2
Consistent quality assurance in manufacturing
A functioning prototype and initial experience with single-unit production were available; with increasing demand, it was necessary to professionalize the manufacturing process in order to guarantee consistently high product quality while ensuring scalability.

1
Consistent design to cost across all aspects
2
On-demand production only
The EBK Group transformed the GreenBox into a cost-optimized, flexibly adaptable production process. To achieve this, all components and aspects of the manufacturing process were systematically analyzed for their economic viability, and more efficient alternatives were developed where necessary.
As market penetration increased, the start-up was able to react professionally and meet the rising demand as needed. This is because an essential part of its cost-optimized structure is: on-demand production only. As a result, the start-up incurs neither upfront financial investments nor storage costs.
Thus, a pilot project became a stable but flexible production line: The GreenBox is now manufactured with consistent quality and at competitive costs and is a key component for networked, ecological energy solutions for the housing industry.
